Celebrating Women and Welcoming Spring: Our March Update

March has been a month of celebration and reflection as we acknowledged the incredible contributions of women in our families, workplaces, and communities. In collaboration with Peckish Goose, we ran a delightful giveaway for Mother’s Day. The excitement surrounding this giveaway was palpable, and we were thrilled to announce Helen Yendall of Blockley as our winner. Helen shared a heartwarming picture of her 90-year-old mother, absolutely thrilled with her gift. It was especially delightful to hear that she tried the chilli chocolate fudge and loved it!

March is a month rich in observances that highlight the achievements and roles of women. International Women's Day on March 8th was a significant highlight. This year’s theme, "Embrace Equity," encouraged all of us to reflect on gender equality and the importance of creating a balanced world. Around the globe, events were organised to celebrate women's achievements and to advocate for women's rights. These gatherings remind us of the progress we've made, while also highlighting the work still to be done in ensuring equal opportunities for all.

Another notable observance was Mothering Sunday, celebrated in the UK and parts of Europe. Falling on the fourth Sunday of Lent, this day is a time to honour mothers and maternal figures, acknowledging the love and support they provide. Our giveaway, in partnership with Peckish Goose, was a wonderful way to add a little extra joy to this special day.

March also ushered in the much-anticipated change of seasons. As we transition from winter to spring, the days are getting longer, and the world around us is starting to bloom. The Spring Equinox, which marks the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, occurred on March 20th. This change in season brings a sense of renewal and hope. Gardens are beginning to burst with color, and the warmer weather invites us to spend more time outdoors, enjoying nature’s beauty.

Looking ahead to April, there are many exciting things to anticipate. One of the highlights is Easter, which is often associated with themes of rebirth and renewal. It’s a time for families to come together, enjoy festive meals, and partake in traditions such as egg hunts. The vibrant colours and joyous celebrations of Easter are a perfect match for the blossoming season.

April is also Earth Month, culminating in Earth Day on April 22nd. It’s a time to reflect on our environmental impact and consider how we can contribute to a healthier planet. Simple actions like planting a tree, reducing waste, or supporting local, sustainable businesses can make a significant difference. As we embrace the beauty of spring, Earth Day serves as an important reminder of our responsibility to protect and preserve our natural world.

In terms of events, April also brings National Pet Day on April 11th, a day dedicated to celebrating our furry, feathered, and scaled friends. Pets play an essential role in our lives, providing companionship and joy. This day is a wonderful opportunity to spoil them a little extra and perhaps even visit a shelter to support animals in need.

As we move into spring, our team is excited about the projects and initiatives we have planned. We'll be focusing on community engagement and sustainability efforts, encouraging everyone to participate in activities that benefit both people and the planet. We hope to continue fostering a sense of community and connection through our collaborations and events.

March has been a reflective and inspiring month, and as we look forward to April, we carry with us the themes of celebration, renewal, and responsibility.
