The terms ethical and sustainable are widely used by many organisations and business. We believe that it is right for these terms to be in our consciousness and to inform how businesses operate.

At Peace Lily, we understand ethical to mean avoiding activities or organisations that do harm to people or the environment (Oxford Dictionary) and sustainable as causing, or made in a way that causes, little or no damage to the environment and therefore able to continue for a long time (Cambridge Dictionary).

We keep things simple and make gifting easy. We aim for the finest and the best. We never compromise this in our processes, products, people and interactions. We say what we mean, and mean what we say.

Furthermore we do the right thing for positive impact for our customers, our teams, each other, sustainability, society and the environment. We work in partnership with our customers and our makers. We value connection and ultimately, the personal touch is at the heart of all we do.

 

These values impact directly on our products and services. Our products, from items selected for our box hampers to our packaging are predominantly local and made in UK. Our goal is for 100% made in the UK minimising air miles and carbon footprint and supporting local entrepreneurship. We take pride in prioritising hand made, natural materials, the upcycled and recovered, and building direct relationships and collaborations with our local suppliers.

We care deeply about provenance and the stories of makers and their products, and we share these with you.

In terms of our services, we are building and maintaining an easy to navigate platform for ordering and information that is regularly updated with helpful gifting tips and strategies for specific occasions. We care and go above and beyond for our customers and strive for prompt delivery (despite ongoing industrial strikes)!

Ultimately, all we do is about connections: connecting artisans and makers from around the UK, most likely in the countryside, with business and organisations in urban areas; and helping you and your business build and foster connections with your loved ones and people you interact with at work so you thrive.
